AR-15 6mm ARC Custom Barrel

We make this AR-15 barrel in 6mm ARC. Take a look at the listed steel, twist, barrel length, gas-system and finish choices for this product.

Why 6mm ARC?

6mm ARC stands for 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge. It was developed around efficient 6mm bullet designs for use in compatible AR-15-size firearms.

Its chambering is different from 6mm Creedmoor or 6.5 Grendel. Those cartridges may be mentioned in the same conversations, but their ammunition is not interchangeable.

Customize Your AR-15 Barrel

  • Barrel material and twist: Shaw stainless steel 1:7 or stainless steel 1:7.5.
  • Length and muzzle: Choose among the listed lengths, crowns and muzzle finishes.
  • Gas system: Review the gas-system lengths and optional gas tubes displayed for the selected barrel.
  • Profile and gas block: Check the barrel profile, gas-block diameter and any optional fixed or adjustable gas blocks.
  • Finish: Fluting, Cerakote and other finish choices depend on the configuration.
  • Related components: Review any matching-bolt or customer-supplied part selections. Don’t assume every optional component is included.

Before You Order

  • Confirm your rifle: This product is for an AR-15-pattern configuration chambered in 6mm ARC. Verify any related receiver, bolt and other component requirements.
  • Check ammunition: Use the cartridge marked for the barrel’s chamber, not a different cartridge with a similar name.
  • Review every selection: This is a made-to-order barrel. Check the options and separately selected components before checkout.

Barrel Options Explained

Stainless steel (SS): Both current material choices for this 6mm ARC barrel are stainless steel. Stainless resists corrosion better than chrome-moly but still needs proper care. Check the material and twist combination you select.

Twist rate: This barrel offers 1:7 and 1:7.5 rifling twists. A 1:7 twist means the rifling makes one full turn every seven inches. That’s different from the barrel’s overall length.

Gas-system length: The selections for this barrel include Pistol-length (about 4 inches), carbine-length (about 7 inches) and mid-length (about 9 inches). These describe nominal gas-system layouts, not barrel length or the tube’s exact measured length.

What is a gas tube? In a conventional AR system, the gas block directs some gas through a small tube toward the action. The tube is a separate component from the barrel and gas block. If you need one supplied, review the Add Gas Tube? option where offered. Gas-tube selection corresponds to the applicable gas-system layout.

Barrel profile: This barrel offers Light, SOCOM and HBAR contours. These describe the barrel’s exterior shape and amount of material. A lighter contour generally weighs less, while heavier contours have more material.

Gas-block size and selection: This product shows .750 and .875-inch gas-block mounting sizes. Those numbers describe the barrel’s outside diameter at the mounting area, not bullet caliber. The block can be selected as an add-on where offered. Fixed and adjustable designs are different options. Customers with their own compatible block can choose a no-block option where available; matching diameter alone doesn’t establish full compatibility.

Muzzle finishes: A target crown is an unthreaded muzzle finish. The threaded option for this barrel is 5/8×24. Magna Port uses gas-venting cuts near the muzzle intended to help manage muzzle rise; it isn’t a screw-on attachment. Gill Cut is a specialty gill-style muzzle cut. Ask us about the current pattern rather than assuming it works like porting or threads.

Fluting restrictions: Some fluting and muzzle-finish combinations aren’t offered together. The product choices reflect those limitations.

Barrel extension: This steel component at the rear of the barrel provides the locking surfaces for the bolt. It isn’t the gas block.

Fluting and finishes: Fluting cuts grooves along the outside of the barrel. Cerakote and other listed finishes affect appearance and surface protection.

Common Questions About This Barrel

Is 6mm ARC the same as 6mm Creedmoor?

No. They’re different cartridges, despite both using 6mm bullets. Use ammunition marked for 6mm ARC.

Do I need to confirm related components?

Yes. The AR-15 pattern has many configurations, and some chamberings need different related components. Check your complete setup before ordering.

Can I change my custom barrel order?

Contact us right away with your order number. Once work starts, changes may not be possible and cancellation terms can apply. Read our Refund Policy.

1 review for AR-15 – 6MM ARC

  1. Joshua Spradlin (verified owner) –

Still breaking the barrel in and putting down groups with 3 and 4 rounds touching. Really solid performance and recoil is minimal with the 13.5 inch barrel and mid-length gas system. I will always be looking at Deadshot Barrels for any custom barrels.
